Review : Best Veggie Burger

Review : Best Veggie Burger

I recently discovered the joys of Costco. I know, I know, I’m a little late jumping on the Costco train but I finally made it. My only regret is that I didn’t know about the fantastic products they have sooner. From what I understand, Costco has really stepped up the “healthy food option” selections recently so it was just meant to be that I found them when I did.

My review is about THE best veggie I’ve ever had in my entire life and I have eaten my share of veggie burgers. If you’ve tried other veggie burgers in the past and were like “meh”, try these and you will say “YEAH!” They are so tast-teeeeeeee!

Don Lee Farms makes this particular veggie patty. Here is a list of the reasons I love them so much:

  1. They are organic!
  2. Gluten Free
  3. Ready to eat in 1 minute in the microwave
  4. I can pronounce every single ingredient
  5. Only 160 calories
  6. Zero trans fat
  7. Zero cholesterol
  8. 4 grams of protein
  9. 2 grams of fiber
  10. No weird “fake meat” ingredients
  11. Not to mention that they are so delicious. I believe it’s because of the unique combination of ingredients (sweet potatoes, onions, celery, spinach, brown rice, sunflower seeds, etc.)

These babies taste so good that most of the time I eat them with no bun, just a little organic ketchup or I top them with some sauteed mushrooms or spinach, some canned fired roasted tomatoes, crumble in a salad or on top of the most delicious steam bag quinoa/kale I’ve ever had. They are so versatile.

Costco in Wharton, & East Hanover, NJ no longer carry these veggie burgers. My boyfriend & I love them, but cannot find them anywhere. I’ve e-mailed Don Lee months ago, & posted on FB, to inquire how we can purchase them. So far…no reply. Can anyone tell he where we can purchase these great veggie burgers now that Costco no longer carries them? According to the store managers, Costco has no plans to carry them again.

Valerie, it really does go to show how good these burgers are because you are hunting for them feverishly. I totally understand. I’d be upset if my Costco stopped selling them too. I wish you luck in finding them again. They are so worth the hunt 🙂

I discovered these (and another variety of veggie burger from the same producer that isn’t quite as good) a couple of months ago and last weekend we discovered that our Costco didn’t have either variety anymore. 🙁 I’m hoping they start carrying them again soon, there isn’t another Costco within easy driving distance.

I went through the same thing. My Costco was out of these for months so I tried the other variety of the same brand but like you said “it wasnt quite as good”. But I finally found then in stock again. You shouldve seen how excited I got in the midst of ‘sample day’ to find these again. I even called friends that had me pick some up for them. Just keep an eye out and hopefully they will pop up again for you.

Have you tried Costco? I hear depending on geographic location, one of the two stores may carry them. Here in Arizona, Costco carries them but not always so I always jump for joy when they are in stock.

No Debbie I don’t know the percentage of egg whites. I bet if you emailed the company, they would be able to help you. Let us know if you find out.

I was purchasing your Orgainic Veggie Burger at Costco at Scottsdale AZ store and was told that they are no longer carrying them. These are the only ones I like. Where else in Scottsdale are they being sold?

      Hi Lee,

I wish these were MY veggie burgers but I just gave my review of them. But, in answer to your question, I find these at Costco at the Paradise Valley Mall. Hope that helps.

I tried these burgers two weeks ago in Costco my whole family fell in love with them. We live in the Burlington, Vermont area and I went back yesterday and they are not carrying them right now. Do you know of any other supermarket that might carry them. They are the best burgers I have ever had.
    Thanks.

I agree, best burgers I’ve ever had too. I don’t know what specific stores they carry them at. I bet if you went on their website you could contact someone in customer service and ask. They are totally worth hunting down.

If you do find anywhere on Long Island, please share with us. We cant be the only people that rave about and love these veggie burgers. You would think others like us are also contacting Don Lee Farms to inquire about them.

I have only found them at Costco here in Arizona. I am going tomorrow to see if they still have them. I havent needed to purchase them in a while. I will check Sprouts here also and see if they do as well. You would think that since they are a fan favorite and we love them so much that they would have them accessible. The search continues.

I actually think they stopped making them because I cant find them anywhere anymore either. But…there is a little good news. They have a new product called Veggie Bites. Its the exact same veggie burger but in a tater tot shape. They taste exactly the same so I suppose its better than nothing.

I know this is an older post but I crave these darn things. I live in Oregon and the only place I was able to find them was at only ONE of the many Costcos within driving distance. However….. they just started carrying Veggie BITES which are very similar ingredients. They were located closer to the egg cooler area around where the guacamole and other cold items were stored.

Yes, I too have discovered the Veggie Bites. Same company and same taste. To me anyway. We gotta take what we can get. With everyone loving the patties so much, it’s just odd that stores don’t carry them on a regular basis.

Hi, I realize I am late to the party here, but I recently discovered these at Costco in VA and after buying them twice can’t seem to find the burgers or bites anywhere. Have you heard any updates on other places that might carry them?

That’s the frustrating par. We find them randomly at Costco then poof, they’re gone. I did recently find Veggie Bites though which are made by the same company but in tater tot size. Ill take what I can get. At least it gives me a reason to use ketchup and saves me from eating bread. But, you could probably mush down some Veggie Bites and form them into a patty if you really wanted a burger.
